Connecticut

The Law:

Felons in prison or on parole cannot vote. Once an individual has completed his or her sentence, the right to vote is automatically restored. In 2001, Connecticut enacted a law restoring the right to vote for persons currently on probation for a felony conviction. The Connecticut Corrections Commissioner must inform the person about the process of rights restoration upon their release, and must transmit restoration information to the Secretary of State and local boards of elections.
