Rhode Island

People with felony convictions in prison cannot vote. Voters approved a referendum on the Nov. 7, 2006, state ballot proposing to restore the right to vote to people with felony convictions on probation or parole. As a result, once an individual has completed his or her sentence, the right to vote is automatically restored.
