Texas

The Law:

Felons on probation, in prison or on parole cannot vote. Once an individual has completed his or her sentence, the right to vote is automatically restored. In 1997, the Texas legislature passed a bill, signed by then-Governor George W. Bush, eliminating the two-year waiting period after completion of a sentence before individuals can regain the right to vote.
